Bench is a skill if you want a bigger bench, you gotta bench.
Dips build triceps like crazy, but they donβt teach you to press heavy on a bar.
DB press carries over better than dips, but still isnβt 1:1.
Dips = triceps + chest thickness. DBs = stability + pressing strength.
Weighted dips help the lockout, not the whole bench.
DBs actually expose weak sides barbell hides that.
Neither beats barbell bench if bench is the goal.
Dips are great⦠until shoulders start barking.
DB press translates better if your sticking point is mid-range.
Dips build muscle, not max singles.
