Preparing for your first figure competition is exciting, intense, and mentally demanding. From dialing in conditioning to perfecting stage presence, every week counts. This thread is for competitors (new and experienced) to share insights on what truly happens during prep.
Discussion Points:

•📅 How to structure a 12–16 week prep (calorie adjustments, cardio progression, refeeds).

•🏋️‍♀️ Training split changes during prep (volume vs intensity).

•🥗 Peak week strategies — carb loading, water manipulation, sodium balance.

•👠 Stage essentials — posing practice, suit selection, tanning, heels, hair & makeup.

•🧠 Mental challenges — mood swings, hunger management, social balance
•📊 Tracking progress — body fat %, photos, weight fluctuations

Oral steroids vary in hepatotoxicity. How does Anavar stack up against Dianabol, Winstrol, and others in terms of liver stress?

I’ve noticed quads respond more to higher reps, while hamstrings and glutes like heavier loads

What’s your take? Are deadlifts essential for growth, or can you achieve the same results without risking lower back stress? Share your routines, experiences, and thoughts.

Deadlifts are great for overall strength, but not strictly needed for muscle growth rows squats and hip thrusts can do the job

Winny gives gains but wrecks the liver faster than Anavar. Dbol hits hard too. If you care about your labs and long-term health, Anavar is the safer go-to oral

Essential if you want full body mass and posterior chain development. Hits more muscles than almost any other lift

Overrated for aesthetics They’re taxing and hard to recover from Romanian or trap bar variations often work better

Bulking on test and dbol? You can eat big and still grow crazy, but keep sodium and junk low or you’ll just balloon with water. Throw in some clean carbs like rice and oats instead of burgers and fries

Old-school bros swear by one muscle a daychest Monday, back Tuesday, etc. But does it still hold up against modern frequency-based training?

Honestly, don’t expect miracle results like GH. You’ll notice minor recovery and sleep benefits in 2–4 weeks but hypertrophy takes 2–3 months at least.
